Vision<\/strong><\/p>\n

To be recognized as an innovative leader in the educational preparation of entry-level and advanced practice nurses\u00a0 while advancing the nursing profession through continuing nursing education.<\/p>\n

Mission<\/h4>\n

The mission of the College of Nursing at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ is consistent with the mission statement and goals of the University. The mission of the College of Nursing is to prepare students to contribute to a global society and a diverse workforce as productive, responsible, and engaged citizens and as well-educated nurses to meet the healthcare needs of\u00a0the Bayou region\u00a0and beyond. The mission is accomplished by continuous improvement in teaching, research, and service in a student-centered, culturally rich and spirited learning environment that fosters faculty, staff, and student engagement.\u00a0The College extends its mission beyond instruction by offering continuing nursing education activities for entry-level and advanced practice nurses. The College is dedicated to continuous quality improvement through systematic assessment and evaluation of program outcomes, processes, and current and former students.<\/p>\n

    4. Increase recognition and visibility of the college for meeting regional workforce needs and for providing cultural enrichment and service to the community.<\/li>\n
    5. Enhance sense of College community, pride in the University and service to the community.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Approval and Accreditation<\/h4>\n

      Within the College of Nursing, the Department of Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program is approved by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing\u00a0and is nationally accredited by the \u00a0Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001. Additionally, ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ College of Nursing is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation, 8515 Georgia Avenue, Suite 400, Silver Spring, MD 20910.<\/p>\n
