We adhere to the doctrine of individual accountability in all our activities and contributions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Accreditation<\/h4>\n<p>The College of Business Administration is accredited at the undergraduate and graduate (evening and executive MBA) levels by AACSB International. The undergraduate program was initially accredited in 1983 and the graduate program in 1988. The accounting program received separate AACSB accreditation in 2007. To attain AACSB International accreditation, the College of Business Administration had to meet 15 standards ensuring the highest quality teaching, research, curriculum development, and student learning. Maintenance of AACSB accreditation requires the College of Business Administration to demonstrate continuous improvement in these areas. ACCT 206 does not count towards the Accounting minor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Business Administration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To obtain a minor in Business Administration, students must complete ACCT 205 and 206, BSAD 221, ECON 211 or ECON 255, MNGT 301 and MKTG 300 for a total of 18 semester hours. Not open to students majoring in the College of Business Administration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Business Analytics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To obtain a minor in Business Analytics, students must complete OIS 200 or 202, QBA 282, QBA 283, CIS 370, CIS 470, and either (CIS 485 and CIS 490) or (MNGT 367 and MNGT 425) for a total of 20 semester hours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Computer Information Systems<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To obtain a minor in Computer Information Systems, students must complete CIS 231 and 15 credit hours to be chosen from CIS electives or ACCT 351 (for a total of 18 credit hours). The program of study leading to a minor in CIS is designed based on student&#8217;s professional interest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Economics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To obtain a minor in Economics students must complete ECON 211 or 255, 212, and 12 additional hours of \u00a0300- or 400-level ECON courses (at least 6 hours of which must be from 400-level ECON courses or FINC 410 or 450) \u00a0for a total of 18 semester hours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Finance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To obtain a minor in Finance students must complete FINC 302, 356, 403, and 9 additional hours of 300- or 400-level Finance, for a total of 18 semester hours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To obtain a minor in Management students must complete MNGT 301 and 15 additional hours\u00a0of 300- or 400-level Management courses. One 300- or 400-level Management course may be replaced by either MKTG 470 or MKTG 475.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maritime Administration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To obtain a minor in Maritime Administration, students must complete BSAD 221 and 325, ECON 211 or 255, MNGT 301 and 330, and SATC 240 for a total of 18 semester hours. Not open to students majoring in Management.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marketing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To obtain a minor in Marketing students must complete MKTG 300 and 15 additional hours\u00a0of 300- or 400-level Marketing courses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNDERGRADUATE CERTIFICATES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The undergraduate certificates in the College of Business offer concentrated study and training so as to prepare students to meet workforce needs. Completion of a certificate program provides students a credential in these areas thereby potentially increasing their value in the workplace. You may complete an undergraduate certificate prior to completing a four-year degree or as a stand-alone credential.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Undergraduate Certificate in Foundations of Business Analytics<\/strong><br \/>\nAn undergraduate certificate in the foundations of business analytics requires 20 semester hours with a minimum grade of C in all courses. Courses include MKTG 301 and an additional 15 hours of marketing courses. A minimum of 6-credit hours must be at the 400-level and a minimum of 12 credit hours must be completed at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Applied Business<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Applied Business is a certification program designed for individuals who have earned a baccalaureate degree and are seeking functional competencies in business administration. The program focuses on those individuals who are working in an organization or in their own business who are in need of a general understanding of the core business disciplines of accounting, economics, business law, marketing, and management and should not be considered as equivalent to a comprehensive business degree program offered by ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ College of Business. It provides an option for adult learners who are interested in furthering their education without pursuing an additional four-year degree.<\/p>\n<p>A Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Applied Business requires a baccalaureate degree, university admission, and successful completion of 18 semester hours with a minimum grade of C in all courses. Courses include ACCT 205, ECON 211, ACCT 206, MNGT 301, BSAD 221, and MKTG 300. A minimum of 12 credits must be completed at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ to obtain the Certificate A rquest to transfer up to 6 credit hours can be made for equivalent coursework completed outside of ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ with approval of Department Head.<\/p>\n<h5>Foundation Knowledge for Business<\/h5>\n<p>To ensure a foundation knowledge for business, all students within the College of Business Administration, working toward a bachelor of science degree, are required to complete 42 hours of core courses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ACCT 205 (3)<\/li>\n<li>ACCT 206 (3) or 306 (3)<\/li>\n<li>BSAD 221 (3)<\/li>\n<li>BSAD 310 (3) or ENGL 310 (3)<\/li>\n<li>BSAD 490 (3)<\/li>\n<li>CIS 231 (3)<\/li>\n<li>ECON 211 (3)<\/li>\n<li>ECON 212 (3)<\/li>\n<li>FINC 302 (3)<\/li>\n<li>MNGT 301 (3)<\/li>\n<li>MNGT 368 (3)<\/li>\n<li>MKTG 300 (3)<\/li>\n<li>QBA 282 (3)<\/li>\n<li>QBA\u00a0283 (3)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Minimum Requirements for College of Business Administration Majors to begin 300-level Business Courses<\/h4>\n<p>Majors must meet University requirements and have at least 54 hours of non-developmental course credits prior to beginning 300-level courses in the College of Business Administration.<\/p>\n<h4>Minimum Requirements for Graduation from the College of Business Administration with a Bachelor Degree<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Meet the general education requirements of the University.<\/li>\n<li>Complete a major field of study as shown by the various curricula offered in the College of Business Administration and where applicable, meet the requirements of the Department in which the work is taken.<\/li>\n<li>Earn at least a C in courses taken to meet the University&#8217;s mathematics requirements, generally, MATH 101 and MATH 106.<\/li>\n<li>Earn a C\u00a0 or better or S in all College of Business courses and specialized concentration courses required by the major with the exception of BSAD 101 and free electives.<\/li>\n<li>At least 50 percent of the College of Business courses and specialized concentration courses required\u00a0for the business degree must be earned at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½.<\/li>\n<li>At least 50 percent of courses in the major must be earned at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½.<\/li>\n<li>All 300- or 400-level College of Business Administration courses transferred to ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ must be from AACSB or EQUIS accredited universities in order to be degree applicable within the College of Business
