<\/a><\/p>\n Marilyn Macik-Frey, Ph.D. Joshua Cogswell, Ph.D.<\/strong> The AACSB-accredited Al Danos College of Business Administration, through a commitment to maintaining high quality faculty, outstanding student outcomes and exceptional programs, positively impacts the social and economic vitality of the College\u2019s service area and beyond by developing well-educated, responsible, and engaged business professionals who meet dynamic marketplace needs.\u00a0 The College also serves as a key resource for regional and global stakeholders.<\/p>\n The Al Danos College of Business Administration supports the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ creed, affirming “values” that promote citizenship, concern for self and others, and the desire for a better world, and embraces as its core values:<\/p>\n The Al Danos College of Business Administration is accredited at the undergraduate and graduate (evening and executive MBA) levels by AACSB International. The undergraduate program was initially accredited in 1983 and the graduate program in 1988. The accounting program received separate AACSB accreditation in 2007. To attain AACSB International accreditation, the Al Danos College of Business Administration had to meet 15 standards ensuring the highest quality teaching, research, curriculum development, and student learning. Maintenance of AACSB accreditation requires the Al Danos College of Business Administration to demonstrate continuous improvement in these areas. Less than 5% of the more than 11,000 business schools in the world are AACSB accredited.<\/p>\n All minors in the Al Danos College of Business require 18-20 hours with a minimum grade of C in each course.<\/p>\n Accounting<\/strong><\/p>\n To obtain a minor in Accounting, students must complete ACCT 205, 321, and 12 additional hours of 300- or 400-level accounting courses. ACCT 206 does not count towards the Accounting minor.<\/p>\n Business Administration<\/strong><\/p>\n To obtain a minor in Business Administration, students must complete ACCT 205 and 206, BSAD 221, ECON 211 or ECON 255, MNGT 301 and MKTG 300 for a total of 18 semester hours. Not open to students majoring in the College of Business Administration.<\/p>\n Business Analytics<\/strong><\/p>\n To obtain a minor in Business Analytics, students must complete OIS 200 or 202, QBA 282, QBA 283, CIS 370, CIS 470, and either (CIS 485 and CIS 490) or (MNGT 367 and MNGT 425) for a total of 20 semester hours.<\/p>\n Computer Information Systems<\/strong><\/p>\n To obtain a minor in Computer Information Systems, students must complete CIS 231 and 15 credit hours to be chosen from CIS electives or ACCT 351 (for a total of 18 credit hours). The program of study leading to a minor in CIS is designed based on student’s professional interest.<\/p>\n Economics<\/strong><\/p>\n To obtain a minor in Economics, students must complete ECON 211 or 255, ECON 212, and 12 additional hours chosen from any 300- or 400-level ECON courses, FINC 410, or FINC 450. At least 6 hours must be from 400-level courses.<\/p>\n Finance<\/strong><\/p>\n To obtain a minor in Finance students must complete FINC 302, 356, 403, and 9 additional hours of 300- or 400-level Finance, for a total of 18 semester hours.<\/p>\n Management<\/strong><\/p>\n To obtain a minor in Management students must complete MNGT 301 and 15 additional hours\u00a0of 300- or 400-level Management courses. One 300- or 400-level Management course may be replaced by either MKTG 470 or MKTG 475.<\/p>\n Maritime Administration<\/strong><\/p>\n To obtain a minor in Maritime Administration, students must complete BSAD 221 and 325, ECON 211 or 255, MNGT 301 and 330, and SATC 240 for a total of 18 semester hours. Not open to students majoring in Management.<\/p>\n Marketing<\/strong><\/p>\n To obtain a minor in Marketing students must complete MKTG 300 and 15 additional hours\u00a0of 300- or 400-level Marketing courses.<\/p>\n UNDERGRADUATE CERTIFICATES<\/strong><\/p>\n The undergraduate certificates in the Al Danos College of Business offer concentrated study and training so as to prepare students to meet workforce needs. Completion of a certificate program provides students a credential in these areas thereby potentially increasing their value in the workplace. You may complete an undergraduate certificate prior to completing a four-year degree or as a stand-alone credential.<\/p>\n Undergraduate Certificate in Foundations of Business Analytics<\/strong><\/p>\n An undergraduate certificate in the foundations of business analytics requires 20 semester hours with a minimum grade of C in all courses. Courses include OIS 200 or 202, QBA 282, QBA 283, CIS 370, CIS 470 and either (CIS 485 + CIS 490) or (MNGT 367 + MNGT 425). Courses include MKTG 300 and an additional 15 hours of 300- or 400-level Marketing courses. A minimum of 12 credit hours must be completed at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½.<\/p>\n Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Applied Business<\/strong><\/p>\n The Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Applied Business is an online certification program designed for individuals who have earned a baccalaureate degree and are seeking functional competencies in business administration. The program focuses on those individuals who are working in an organization or in their own business who are in need of a general understanding of the core business disciplines of accounting, economics, business law, marketing, and management and should not be considered as equivalent to a comprehensive business degree program offered by ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ College of Business. It provides an option for adult learners who are interested in furthering their education without pursuing an additional four-year degree.<\/p>\n A Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Applied Business requires a baccalaureate degree, university admission, and successful completion of 18 semester hours with a minimum grade of C in all courses. Courses include ACCT 205, ECON 211, ACCT 206, MNGT 301, BSAD 221, and MKTG 300.
