Faculty Book Club<\/strong><\/h3>

Each semester a text is selected for the faculty book club based on the annual faculty survey and faculty recommendations.\u00a0 We meet a few times over the semester to discuss 1-3 chapters at a time.\u00a0 A google document records book club discussion so that participants can go back and review the discussions before course planning and course improvement. Look out for emails to sign up for book clubs at the beginning of each semester.\u00a0<\/p>

Writing Camps<\/b><\/h3>

Every Summer the CTE hosts a 12 week writing workshop.\u00a0 Faculty meet weekly using\u00a0 WRITING YOUR JOURNAL ARTICLE in 12 Weeks: A Guide to Academic Publishing Success. In this text the author Wendy Laura Belcher breaks down the writing process into manageable tasks to help anyone prepare an article for publication in just 12 weeks.\u00a0 Faculty will be able to keep each other accountable and peer review each other\u2019s work.<\/p>

Additionally 1-3 day writing camps for specific publications and grants such as CourseSource Louisiana Board of Regents grants will be provided. Collaborative Workshop Series\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>

ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ State instructors are amazing, and have so much knowledge to share! And NOT just with your students.\u00a0 We\u2019d love to have you pair with us to share the things that you are doing in your classrooms\u00a0 or learning from conferences you have attended with your fellow instructors.\u00a0<\/p>

Propose a topic within one of the following themes, pick a fellow faculty member or CTE staff member\u00a0 with whom you\u2019d like to be paired, and work with that person to build an engaging and interactive workshop for your peers.<\/p>

Consider these themes as you propose topic ideas and dates:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Engaging students in a hyflex\/hybrid\/online modality\u00a0<\/li>
  • Alternative assessments to multiple choice exams\u00a0<\/li>
  • Mastery or specification grading\u00a0<\/li>
  • Universal Design\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>
