Formal appointment to the Graduate Faculty is made by the President at the request of the Graduate Council.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-f33e919\" data-id=\"f33e919\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ea8c92b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ea8c92b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Membership on the Graduate Faculty is determined by the Graduate Council on the basis of an individual\u2019s duties and qualifications after recommendation of the appropriate coordinator of graduate studies and academic dean. Standards of the College Delegate Assembly of \u00a0<strong>Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges<\/strong>\u00a0require that Graduate Faculty members be productive, creative scholars. Productive scholarship requires devotion to the discovery, development, and refinement of knowledge and techniques in one\u2019s field of expertise. with evidence of continued scholarly activity during that time period.\u00a0 <\/b>Faculty who have earned their terminal degree within two years of application for membership may apply for regular membership.
