THIBODAUX – Lafourche Parish President Charlotte Randolph and Terrebonne Parish President Michel Claudet will join ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ President Dr. Stephen T. Hulbert and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Laynie Barrilleaux on Saturday, Oct. 23, to pay tribute to members of the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ community who provided services in the aftermath of the gulf oil spill.
ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ faculty, staff and students – as well as members of the Barataria/Terrebonne National Estuary Program (BTNEP), based at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ – will all receive name recognition during halftime of the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ vs. Central Arkansas football game, which kicks off at 4 p.m.
Post-disaster services performed by the honorees included research; transportation and cleanup of marine life; seafood safety monitoring; and expert recovery guidance. Many honorees remain engaged in long-term efforts to help restore Louisiana’s wetlands.
