THIBODAUX – The 2011 Bonnie Bourg Lecture Series and Women’s History Luncheon and Awards Presentation at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ will feature Dawn Rose LaFont, principal of Oaklawn Junior High School.
LaFont was named Louisiana’s 1991-92 Special Education Teacher of the Year, 2005-06 Terrebonne Parish Elementary Principal of the Year, 2008-09 Region 3 Elementary Principal of the Year and 2009 James Lynn Powell Award winner at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½.
Slated for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, in the Le Bijou Theater of the Bollinger Memorial Student Union, the event is free and open to the public.
The Bonnie Bourg lecture and luncheon are part of 13th annual Jubilee: A Festival of the Arts and Humanities at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½.
