Jeremy Breaux, a Thibodaux native and 2011 alumnus of the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Department of Art, received the Carriage House Paper Merchandise Award for fourth place at the Fifth National Collegiate Handmade Paper Art Triennial, held at Rutgers in New Jersey.
His winning pulp painting, a self-portrait made from colored paper pulp, pictured here, will be exhibited at the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, D.C., in fall 2012. The juried competition is open to graduate and undergraduate papermaking students from the United States. ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ students have competed in three of the past five events; this is the first award for a ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ student.
