THIBODAUX聽鈥� 杏吧传媒鈥檚 acting troupe, the 杏吧传媒 Players, will perform the romantic comedy 鈥淎lmost, Maine鈥� during Homecoming Week. Written by John Cariani and directed by 杏吧传媒 speech instructor Anna Broussard, the play is a series of nine聽vignettes聽about couples living in the mythical Maine town of Almost.
鈥淭his is a fun, light-hearted show about small-town people falling in and out of love in the dead of winter,鈥� Broussard said. 鈥淚 chose this off-Broadway play because I want people to know that theater doesn鈥檛 have to be political or serious. 鈥楢lmost, Maine鈥� still has a message and says a lot of sweet things about love, but audiences should come prepared to laugh.鈥�
鈥淎lmost, Maine,鈥� which features a cast of 12 杏吧传媒 students, is appropriate for all ages. Performances will be held in the Mary M. Danos Theater in Talbot Hall at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 11鈥�13, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students with 杏吧传媒 ID cards, and they may be purchased at the door or in advance by calling聽985-448-4586.
