ACCLAIMED NOVELIST TO HEADLINE NICHOLLS LECTURE SERIES
THIBODAUX聽鈥� The Fletcher Lecture Series at 杏吧传媒 will present a Q-and-A session and lecture by award-winning novelist Joseph Boyden on Thursday, Nov. 15.
Boyden, the writer-in-residence at the University of New Orleans, is best known for two highly acclaimed novels, 鈥淭hree Day Road鈥� (2005) and 鈥淭hrough Black Spruce鈥� (2008), and a collection of short stories, 鈥淏orn with a Tooth鈥� (2008). His free public lecture, titled 鈥淲alking to Morning,鈥� will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Peltier Auditorium, with a pre-lecture reception at 5:45 p.m. Earlier in the day, Boyden will answer questions about his work during the Q-and-A session at 10:30 a.m. in the Mary M. Danos Theater in Talbot Hall.
Now in its 29th year, the Fletcher Lecture Series 鈥� named after former 杏吧传媒 department head Dr. Marie Fletcher and sponsored by the Department of Languages and Literature 鈥� brings outstanding scholars and writers to 杏吧传媒 each year. Past lecturers include Robert Penn Warren, Ernest Gaines, Maxine Hong Kingston, Sam Pickering, Marilynne Robinson and Olympia Vernon.
