杏吧传媒 professor to have work exhibited in New Orleans conference

THIBODAUX, La. — 杏吧传媒 broadcast professor and filmmaker Lance Arnold will have five documentaries featured this weekend at the 26th Annual Cutting Edge CE Conference at the New Orleans Jazz Museum.

The first film on blues musician Deacon John Moore will be shown Friday, Aug. 24. The remaining four showings 鈥斅爁eaturing saxman Loren Pickford, rhythm and blues singer and pianist Clarence 鈥淔rogman鈥 Henry, Cherokee medicine man and musician Rev. Goat Carson and bassist and founding member of the Meters George Porter 鈥 聽on Saturday, Aug. 24, bookending a panel discussion on documenting culture that Arnold will moderate.

鈥淚鈥檓 excited 鈥 only two of these five films have been seen,鈥 Arnold said. 鈥淚t is a big step to have films shown at this conference.鈥

The Cutting Edge CE conference is an annual four-day event in New Orleans drawing music industry professionals from around the world.

鈥淚 think this is a wonderful venue to show his work,鈥 said Dr. James Stewart, mass communication department head. 鈥淭his also increases our exposure in the New Orleans area, among a fairly influential audience. I know they do a lot of big cultural things there.鈥

On Friday, the Moore documentary will begin at 4:45 p.m. The 鈥淢usic in Movies鈥 film series will run from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. For more information, visit cuttingedgenola.com.
