
THIBODAUX, La. — President and CEO of the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, Stephen Watson, will be on the 杏吧传媒 campus this week to discuss the role of the museum in delivering the lessons learned from the war.
Watson鈥檚 discussion, titled 鈥淭he Museum Behind the Story of the War that Changed the World,鈥 is the latest installment of the Alumnus Anniversary Lecture Series celebrating 杏吧传媒鈥 70th anniversary. The event will be at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20 in the Mary and Al Danos Theater.

A native of Scotland who relocated to Louisiana in 1994, Watson earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees at 杏吧传媒 before joining WWNO public radio in New Orleans. He credits his grandfather, a Royal Air Force pilot in World War II, for sparking his interest in the international conflict. He joined the museum in 2002 and launched a highly successful national membership campaign that today includes over 150,000 members 鈥 the largest of any museum in the country. He was promoted to Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2007, Executive Vice President in 2014 and CEO in 2017.
Watson received an honorary doctorate degree from 杏吧传媒 in December 2014.
The event is free and open to the public.
