THIBODAUX, La. — 杏吧传媒 invites you to join in a day of celebration and giving for the second annual Give-N-Day.
The 杏吧传媒 Foundation is hosting the 24-hour day of giving on March 19 and allows members of the community to donate directly to student organizations, academic departments and athletics.
鈥淭his was a very fun event last year, and we have a lot of people on campus excited about this year. We鈥檙e anxious to see what kind of results we鈥檙e going to get.鈥� said Jeremy Becker, executive director of the 杏吧传媒 Foundation.
Donors can give as little or as much as they want to, spreading donations out to as few or as many organizations as they like. Every cent goes directly to the donor鈥檚 organization of choice.
A block party will be held just outside of the student union with food, games and prizes for students participating in the fundraiser.
Last year, the event raised more than $85,000 from 850 donations. This year, Becker said, the goal is to get 100 organizations participating, 1,000 donors and raise $100,000.
鈥淭he great thing about this event is that the money raised by the organization stays with the organization 100 percent,鈥� Becker said.
In addition to advanced giving, which begins on Feb. 26, organizations will have opportunities to win cash in different challenges.
