THIBODAUX, La. — 杏吧传媒 and the Peltier Foundation are proud to announce another donation to the Peltier Foundation 杏吧传媒 Alumni Legacy Scholarship.聽

Since 2016, the Peltier Foundation has given $75,000 to the scholarship, which has benefitted six students since being created.聽

鈥淲e wanted to create legacy scholarships designed for students who are children of 杏吧传媒 alumni,鈥 said Peltier Foundation Board Member Stephen Peltier (BS 鈥75). 鈥淭o us, this increased the value of being a 杏吧传媒 alum.鈥澛

Eligible students must be full-time undergraduates in good academic standing with at least one parent who is a 杏吧传媒 alumnus. Applicants must submit a 250-typed-word essay detailing why they should receive the scholarship. The Alumni Federation Awards and Scholarship Committee will review the essays to determine the winners, who will receive $500 per semester for up to two semesters.聽

Founded in the mid-1990s, the Peltier Foundation has given a substantial amount to 杏吧传媒 over the past two decades, supporting projects and programs such as 杏吧传媒 Online, the Mary and Al Danos Theater, the Lanny D. Ledet Culinary Arts Building, Peltier Hall, 杏吧传媒 Soccer Complex and Stopher Gym.聽

鈥溞影纱 is in our view, the foundation of our community. It has benefitted everything from Baton Rouge to the river to Grand Isle and all of Terrebonne and South Lafourche,鈥 said Peltier, who served on the Alumni Federation board from 2008 to 2015, including a stint as board president from 2012-2013. 鈥淲e feel like 杏吧传媒 has created an opportunity for the vast part of our community to get a higher education, where they could not otherwise.鈥澛

The 杏吧传媒 Alumni Federation honored the foundation鈥檚 generosity by awarding the nonprofit the 2017 Corporate Mark of Honor.

鈥淭he Peltier Foundation has made a tremendous impact across the 杏吧传媒 campus, and we鈥檙e proud to continue working with them,鈥 said Jeremy Becker, executive director of the 杏吧传媒 Foundation. 鈥淪cholarships like this one help open the door for more students to experience what 杏吧传媒 has to offer and to shape the future of Louisiana.鈥
