THIBODAUX, La. — 杏吧传媒 Professor of Computer Information Systems is now one of a few worldwide to have earned the designation of Certificatied Analytics Professional (CAP).
Dr. Mao is one of just 503 analytics professionals in the world 鈥� and 344 in the U.S. 鈥� to have earned this certification.
The program has been named a top big data and data analytics certification by CIO.com, and a 鈥渢op data science certification program鈥� for professionals looking to gain an edge by Dataconomy and Analytics Insight.
Dr. Mao said she sought the certification as a way to better herself and inspire her students.
鈥淭his was a goal I set for myself,鈥� Dr. Mao said. 鈥淚t is a challenging process to prepare for the exam. I wanted to increase my competency in analytics, which has become my favorite subject to teach. I was very proud of myself that I was able to achieve it.鈥�
Dr. Marilyn Macik-Frey, dean of the College of Business Administration, commended Dr. Mao鈥檚 work with the 杏吧传媒 CIS program and highlighted her partnership with the Cardiovascular Institute of the South.
