THIBODAUX, La. 鈥� Tickets are on sale for 杏吧传媒 Players鈥� performance of Joseph Kesselring鈥檚 classic dark comedy, 鈥淎rsenic and Old Lace,鈥� running Thursday through Saturday, March 19-21, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 22, at 2 p.m. in the Mary and Al Danos Theater on 杏吧传媒 campus.
鈥淎rsenic and Old Lace鈥� tells the story of two charming old ladies with a murderous secret and the antics of their nephews: Teddy, who thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt, Jonathan, who is on the run from a mental institution, and Mortimer, a theatre critic who is debating marrying the woman he loves while trying to get a handle on his mad relatives. The play will feature a talented cast of students, bringing the show to life for a community event suitable for all ages.
鈥淲e are thrilled to bring this beloved classic to the Danos stage,鈥� said Dr. Anna Broussard, theater director for 杏吧传媒 Players and assistant professor of speech. 鈥淥ur students have worked incredibly hard to capture the play鈥檚 wit and humor, and we can鈥檛 wait to share that energy with the community.鈥�
鈥�Arsenic and Old Lace鈥� marks the fourth event in the 杏吧传媒 College of Liberal Arts Vive Les Arts performance series. The series finale is set to feature an evening of music and fine dining in the Student Union Cotillion Ballroom on Tuesday, April 14.聽
Proceeds from this series will support the College of Liberal Arts鈥� performing arts initiatives. Tickets for the production are $15 for students and $25 for the general public and can be purchased . Those with Vive Les Arts season tickets are to attend the March 21 production.
