{"id":10222,"date":"2026-06-08T14:03:34","date_gmt":"2026-06-08T19:03:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/?p=10222"},"modified":"2026-06-08T14:03:34","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T19:03:34","slug":"nicholls-state-remains-the-only-ul-system-member-with-master-tutor-certification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/2026\/06\/08\/nicholls-state-remains-the-only-ul-system-member-with-master-tutor-certification\/","title":{"rendered":"ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ State Remains the Only UL System Member with Master Tutor Certification"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">THIBODAUX, La. \u2013 ÐÓ°É´«Ã½\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/academic-services-center\/tutorial-and-academic-enhancement-center\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tutorial and Academic Enhancement Center<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has once again been awarded Level III Certification as a tutor training program by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/crla.net\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">College Reading and Learning Association<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ is one of three institutions within the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ulsystem.edu\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">University of Louisiana System<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to be CRLA-certified and is the only institution to maintain the Level III \u201cMaster Level\u201d status.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This certification represents the highest level of accreditation offered by the CRLA\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/crla.net\/page\/ITTPC\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">International Tutor Training Program Certification<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and distinguishes ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ as a leader in providing elite academic support services.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ÐÓ°É´«Ã½&#8217; tutoring center has been certified at the highest level since 2003, successfully undergoing the intensive recertification process every four years. However, the most recent recertification was more demanding.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following the release of new CRLA standards, outcomes and assessments in 2021, the center overhauled its program and training materials to meet modern academic needs for the 2022 and 2024 cycles. The application process involves months of preparation and a comprehensive peer review.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Maintaining this certification is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff and tutors,&#8221; said Director of Student Success and Retention Dr. Amy Hebert. &#8220;It reinforces our commitment to providing ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ students with an academic support system that empowers them to reach their full academic potential.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Level III certification confirms that the center has excelled in maintaining high standards for tutor selection, requiring tutors to complete a minimum of 30 hours of specialized training and 75 hours of direct, documented tutoring experience with students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It ensures the center can provide assistance across a wide range of challenging disciplines, including College Algebra, Trigonometry and Business Calculus. Students also have access to 24\/7 online support and intensive writing reviews through <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/tutor.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tutor.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which is accessible through their course management system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CRLA\u2019s
