{"id":1618,"date":"2010-09-07T10:27:02","date_gmt":"2010-09-07T15:27:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/?p=1618"},"modified":"2010-09-07T10:27:02","modified_gmt":"2010-09-07T15:27:02","slug":"naomi-judd-to-headline-nicholls-conference-in-little-rock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/2010\/09\/07\/naomi-judd-to-headline-nicholls-conference-in-little-rock\/","title":{"rendered":"Naomi Judd to headline ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ conference in Little Rock"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THIBODAUX \u2013 Country music icon Naomi Judd will be the keynote speaker this week at the National Women\u2019s Leadership Summit, an ongoing initiative of the Louisiana Center for Women and Government, headquartered at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½.<!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1619\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1619\" style=\"width: 345px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/66\/2010\/09\/Judd.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-1619 \" title=\"Judd\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/66\/2010\/09\/Judd-540x506.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"345\" height=\"324\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1619\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Naomi Judd<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Slated for Thursday, Sept. 9, through Saturday, Sept. 11, the summit will take place at the Peabody Hotel in Little Rock, Ark., where women leaders from across the nation will meet to discuss energy and environmental issues, resulting in a compact signaling their intention to enact policy changes at all levels of government.<\/p>\n<p>Judd\u2019s keynote address, titled \u201cHow to Have a Breakthrough, Not a Breakdown,\u201d is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10.<\/p>\n<p>Co-chairs of the summit include U.S. Senators Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas. Attendees from southeast Louisiana include Dr. Laura Badeaux, director of the Louisiana Center for Women and Government; Elaine Musso, center assistant; Debi Benoit, ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ director of research and sponsored programs; Donnell Zeringue, chair of the center\u2019s Bayou Region Leadership Council; Kathleen Mix, chair of the center\u2019s New Orleans Leadership Council; and Faith Peperone and Carol Short, center members from New Orleans.<\/p>\n<p>Media inquiries should be directed to Shelton Jones at (225) 439-9700 or sheltonjones2001@yahoo.com.
