Hulbert and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Laynie Barrilleaux on Saturday, Oct. 23, to pay tribute to members of the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ community who provided services in the aftermath of the gulf oil spill. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/66\/2010\/10\/HalftimeAwards.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1779\" title=\"HalftimeAwards\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/66\/2010\/10\/HalftimeAwards-540x370.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"370\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ faculty, staff and students \u2013 as well as members of the Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program (BTNEP), based at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ \u2013 received name recognition during halftime of the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ vs. Central Arkansas football game. Post-disaster services performed by the honorees included research; transportation and cleanup of marine life; seafood safety monitoring; and expert recovery guidance. Many honorees remain engaged in long-term efforts to help restore Louisiana\u2019s wetlands.
