Individuals or groups nominated must have promoted, enhanced or elevated the state of intercollegiate ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ athletics and been instrumental in the role that athletics plays in the lives of student athletes.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/66\/2010\/11\/Geaux-Colonels_CLR.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-1789\" title=\"Geaux Colonels_CLR\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/66\/2010\/11\/Geaux-Colonels_CLR-540x327.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"327\" \/><\/a>\u201cBecause athletics remain an integral part of the American university scene, it is important for us to recognize individuals who have contributed to the well-being of our student athletes,\u201d Dr. Stephen T. Hulbert, university president, said. \u201cOnce again we will invite the honorees to campus to honor and thank them for helping to improve the college experience for our student athletes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nominees, who need not have attended or graduated from ÐÓ°É´«Ã½, must have distinguished themselves in service and leadership by playing an active role in supporting ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ athletics. Their service may have been a particular accomplishment or a sustained and exemplary record of service and support.<\/p>\n<p>Nominations can be submitted by members of the Colonel Athletic Association, ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ faculty, staff, retirees and alumni. Letters of nomination, outlining the nominee\u2019s qualifications, must be submitted to Dr. David Boudreaux, vice president for institutional advancement, by Friday, December 10.<\/p>\n<p>Send letters via postal mail to P.O. Box 2066, Thibodaux, La., 70301 \u2013 or via e-mail to <a href=\"mailto:david.boudreaux@www.nicholls.edu\">david.boudreaux@www.nicholls.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For additional information, call (985) 448-4136.
