THIBODAUX \u2014 The ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Foundation will present \u201cLegends of Motown,\u201d an evening of popular music hits benefiting ÐÓ°É´«Ã½\u2019s Mary M. Danos Theater on Saturday, Aug. 9.<\/p>\n
The live theatrical production, featuring Motown music favorites performed by local talent, is produced by ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ alums Lorna Gianelloni and Bernadette Dugas.<\/p>\n
Gianelloni\u2019s film credits include casting for the Academy Award-nominated feature \u201cBeasts of the Southern Wild\u201d and \u201cA Gathering of Old Men\u201d by Academy Award-winning director Volker Schlondorff. She has also acted on stage and in film, and currently owns Lorna’s Boutique in Houma.<\/p>\n
Dugas also works in the film industry, assisting in production, casting and costume design on films like Francis Ford Coppola\u2019s \u201cOne From the Heart\u201d and \u201cFletch Lives\u201d with Chevy Chase. She has also acted and co-hosted her own live talk show. Dugas currently co-owns Aria Relic Cinema and Studio Bluenoir, film production companies in Thibodaux and Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
Tickets for the event are $60 per person. Hors d\u2019oeuvres and a cash bar will be available. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show will start at 7 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the renovation and maintenance of the Mary M. Danos Theater. <\/p>\n
