THIBODAUX \u2014 In honor of Veterans Day, the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Veterans Organization will host a screening of the critically acclaimed feature documentary \u201cThe Hornet\u2019s Nest\u201d Tuesday, Nov. 11, in the LeBijou Theater at the Bollinger Memorial Student Union. <\/p>\n
Refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m. with the screening at 6 p.m. A panel discussion featuring ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ student combat veterans will follow.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Hornet\u2019s Nest\u201d follows award-winning journalists Mike Boettcher and his son, Carlos Boettcher, as they are embedded with U.S. forces fighting on the front lines of Afghanistan through gun battles, roadside bombings and sniper fire. The film uses unprecedentedly vivid footage to tell the story of an elite group of U.S. troops sent on a dangerous mission deep inside one of the country\u2019s most hostile valleys, culminating in nine days of intense combat against an invisible enemy amid the country\u2019s complex terrain.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Hornet\u2019s Nest\u201d is produced by HighRoad Media in association with Base Productions. Christian Tureaud and David Salzberg of HighRoad Media serve as co-directors and producers. John Brenkus and Mickey Stern of Base Productions are executive producers.<\/p>\n
The documentary screening will follow a traditional Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. in the campus quadrangle.
