{"id":5962,"date":"2016-10-10T17:29:41","date_gmt":"2016-10-10T22:29:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/?p=5962"},"modified":"2016-10-10T17:29:41","modified_gmt":"2016-10-10T22:29:41","slug":"nicholls-players-to-perform-shakespeare-classic-in-newly-renovated-danos-theater","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/2016\/10\/10\/nicholls-players-to-perform-shakespeare-classic-in-newly-renovated-danos-theater\/","title":{"rendered":"ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Players to perform Shakespeare classic in newly renovated Danos Theater"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">THIBODAUX, La. &#8212; The ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Players will perform William Shakespeare\u2019s \u201cA Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream\u201d next week as their first production in the newly renovated Mary and Al Danos Theater.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">One of Shakespeare&#8217;s most notable works, the comedy portrays the events surrounding the wedding of Theseus and Hippolyta, including the adventures of four young lovers and a group of six amateur actors, who are manipulated by a group of fairies who inhabit the forest in which the play is set.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Players are very excited and humbled to be the first full performance in the newly renovated Mary and Al Danos Theater,\u201d said Anna Broussard, director of the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Players. \u201cWhat&#8217;s ironic is that I produced a children&#8217;s version of \u2018A Midsummer Night&#8217;s Dream\u2019 for the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Performing Arts Camp in July of 2014. The day of our first rehearsal, Mr. Al Danos just happened to be touring the old theater, and stopped in to say hi.
