{"id":6321,"date":"2017-11-28T10:00:47","date_gmt":"2017-11-28T16:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/?p=6321"},"modified":"2017-11-28T10:00:47","modified_gmt":"2017-11-28T16:00:47","slug":"nicholls-choir-to-hold-christmas-concert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/2017\/11\/28\/nicholls-choir-to-hold-christmas-concert\/","title":{"rendered":"ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ choir to hold Christmas concert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">THIBODAUX, La. &#8212; Just in time for the holidays, the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Concert Choir will perform their annual Candlelight Christmas Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5 in the Mary and Al Danos Theater.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Through song and narration, the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Concert Choir will tell the traditional Christmas Story, with fresh arrangements of traditional Christmas carols paired with composed seasonal songs.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Tickets are $10 for students and $20 for general admission. Revenue from the concert will be used to send the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ concert choir to New York City to perform at the famed Carnegie Hall in May.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Among the carols to be performed are \u201cSilent Night,\u201d \u201cO Holy Night,\u201d O Little Town of Bethlehem\u201d and \u201cCarol of the Bells.\u201d The choir will also perform William Walton\u2019s \u201cWhat Cheer?,\u201d Healey Willan\u2019s \u201cThe Three Kings,\u201d Emma Lou Diemer\u2019s \u201cThe Angel Gabriel,\u201d Joseph Martin\u2019s \u201cThe Song Arising\u201d and Craig Courtney\u2019s \u201cWho But the Lord?\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Student instrumentalists include Katie Robichaux on piano, Richard Galbreath on clarinet and Seth Babin on the French horn.
