{"id":6455,"date":"2018-02-14T16:55:01","date_gmt":"2018-02-14T22:55:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/?p=6455"},"modified":"2018-02-14T16:55:01","modified_gmt":"2018-02-14T22:55:01","slug":"nicholls-enrollment-growth-trend-continues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/2018\/02\/14\/nicholls-enrollment-growth-trend-continues\/","title":{"rendered":"ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ enrollment growth trend continues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">THIBODAUX, La. &#8212; Enrollment at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ continued its upward trajectory with a fifth-consecutive semester of student population growth. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Overall enrollment, including undergraduate and graduate students, increased by 82 students to 5,845. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt\u2019s encouraging to see that ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ is an appealing option to students during one of the most competitive higher education environments in Louisiana history,\u201d said Dr. Jay Clune, ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ President. \u201cI attribute our success to the entire ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ community but most of all to the great work done by our Office of Academic Affairs and the Office of Admissions. I believe we can provide an affordable, high-quality education to even more students in the Bayou Region. This is just the beginning for ÐÓ°É´«Ã½.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Spring enrollment at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ has risen in large part to continued high retention rates. After setting a university record with 88.3 percent in 2016, ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ followed with an 86.9 percent retention rate in 2017 and 87.1 percent this spring.
