We do this by teaching and mentoring our students to be the best chemists in the world. Dr. Robichaux&#8217;s success is a great example of how ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ chemistry program is changing the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to the World Health Organization, ischemic heart disease and stroke have been the leading cause of death for the past 15 years. They accounted for 15.2 million deaths in 2016. In 2017, 5.8 percent of Louisianans had heart disease compared to the national rate of 4.1 percent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The research looks into the roles of a specific protein, EPAC1, in stress-induced cardiovascular disease development.
