Lora Ann Chaisson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

THIBODAUX, La. — Local Native American advocate Lora Ann Chaisson will be the featured speaker for the 2019 Bonnie Bourg Lecture Series on Thursday, March 7. <\/span><\/p>\n

Chaisson will deliver her lecture at 10:30 a.m. in the LeBijou Theater. The talk will be free and open to the public. <\/span><\/p>\n

Following the presentation, Chaisson will give the keynote address at the Women of Achievement Award Luncheon at noon in the Student Union\u2019s Carnival Room.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chaisson worked with the Inter-Tribal Council of Louisiana and the Institute for Indian Development for 25 years, including the last 10 as program director for a domestic violence program assisting Louisiana Native American survivors of family violence, domestic violence and dating violence. She serves as a member of the Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Violence Against Women Taskforce. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
