THIBODAUX, La. — Join the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Art Department as it celebrates the works of more than 25 artists who have given to students through Art Works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ameen Art Gallery will feature the Friends of Art Works exhibit from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, Oct. 14-18. The gallery will host a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16. The gallery and reception are free and open to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEach year, these artists donate artwork to the Art Works fundraiser,\u201d said Ross Jahnke, interim art department head. \u201cThis exhibit is our way of saying thank you to them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Art Works is the department\u2019s annual fundraiser, which benefits students through scholarships, mini-grants and equipment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since its inception in 2014, Art Works has funded more than $45,000 in scholarships and even more for grants that have helped more than 25 students host exhibits and attend conferences across the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Held on April 2, the 2019 Art Works raised more than $39,000, topping last year\u2019s record-setting $30,000. Art Works benefits students through scholarships, grants and equipment and technology upgrades.
