THIBODAUX, La. — ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ professor of education Dr. Aimee Hollander has been selected to participate in the Deep Teaching Residency this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The residency will be from Sunday, Jan. 5, to Wednesday, Jan. 8 at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in Chevy Chase, Maryland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I teach multiculturalism in the classroom in which our main focus is on inclusive pedagogy,\u201d Dr. Hollander said. \u201cI am looking forward to gaining new skills and materials to present to our teacher candidates in that course. I also plan to present what I learn from this deep teaching residency program in a CAFE for NSU faculty during Black History Month where we will focus on how to create inclusive classroom environments.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Deep Teaching Residency analyzes how an instructor\u2019s ability to provide an inclusive teaching experience in a STEM classroom can be impacted by various components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
