The Thibodaux resident created both pieces in her advanced drawing course.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.laslagunaartgallery.com\/\">Las Laguna Art Gallery<\/a> featured her self-portrait, \u201cChin Up,\u201d in their \u201cWomen in Art\u201d exhibition. <a href=\"https:\/\/theinartgallery.com\/greatest-student-exhibition-1\">The In Art Gallery<\/a> gave honorable mention to her drawing, \u201cIt\u2019s Under Control,\u201d in the \u201cGreatest Student Exhibition.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI tend to doubt the value of what I have been able to accomplish. It has helped me to feel more confident in creating more, and feeling encouraged to also want to create more,\u201d she said. \u201cI am excited to represent the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ art program because I think it is really good.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stock\u2019s work has been featured before. Her painting, \u201cMore than Just Her Hands,\u201d was on display at the Artist Trust\u2019s 5th Annual Figures &amp; Faces in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stock returned to ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ because her daughter wanted the two of them to take a painting course together. She did not intend to get her degree but fell in love with the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI see things differently now,\u201d she said. \u201cThey require you to take classes in sculpture, ceramics, drawing, design and printmaking, so you experience these different methods and become a better artist in putting it all together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/art\/drawing\/\">drawing\u2019s<\/a> tagline is \u201cCapture life on paper.\u201d The program emphasizes traditional observational and representational drawing skills.
