The ISTE Teacher Education Network Award for Excellence in Teacher Education honors an exceptional teacher educator who advances the field, demonstrates vision and innovation and improves learning and teaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am humbled and honored to be this year\u2019s recipient,\u201d said Dr. Vavasseur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Vavasseur guided <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/\">ÐÓ°É´«Ã½<\/a> through the ISTE certification process and in March became <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/2021\/03\/29\/nicholls-named-third-provider-for-leading-educational-technology-certification\/\">just the third institution to provide the ISTE Certification for Educators<\/a>. And the sole university to earn that designation on its first proposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Vavasseur said it took her a year and a half to redesign their courses, projects and assessments to meet the ISTE requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is by far the highlight of my career in educational technology so far,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Vavasseur is among the featured speakers at <a href=\"https:\/\/conference.iste.org\/2021\/\">2022 ISTE Live<\/a>, the organization\u2019s international conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cISTE plans to highlight our program and ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ in many ways. I could not be more proud to bring this honor to ÐÓ°É´«Ã½,\u201d Dr. Vavasseur said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ISTE is a nonprofit organization that works with the global education community to speed up the use of technology to solve tough problems and inspire innovation. They are the largest educational technology organization around the world, and their annual conference draws around 25,000 attendees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe ISTE Awards have long showcased the forward-thinking work from educators working to transform the learning and teaching experience at schools.
