{"id":9981,"date":"2025-07-18T15:21:54","date_gmt":"2025-07-18T20:21:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/?p=9981"},"modified":"2025-07-18T15:23:52","modified_gmt":"2025-07-18T20:23:52","slug":"nicholls-esports-partners-with-terrebonne-parish-to-host-free-camp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/2025\/07\/18\/nicholls-esports-partners-with-terrebonne-parish-to-host-free-camp\/","title":{"rendered":"ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Esports Partners with Terrebonne Parish to Host Free Camp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">THIBODAUX, La. \u2013 The 2025 Terrebonne Esports Camp is a <\/span><b>free<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, week-long summer program focused on competitive gaming, leadership and team-building hosted by ÐÓ°É´«Ã½\u2019s Colonel Esports program. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/contedu.nicholls.edu\/wconnect\/ace\/CourseStatus.awp?&amp;course=25SU_ESPTERR\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Registration<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is available for Terrebonne Parish residents aged 10 through 17.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The camp will take place July 28 to Aug. 1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Barry P. Bonvillain Civic Center in Houma. The program will introduce students to esports through structured gameplay, workshops and activities focused on communication, teamwork and digital citizenship. Lunch will be provided each day, and<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> all necessary gaming hardware and software will be supplied onsite. C<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ampers will work closely with trained esports counselors from ÐÓ°É´«Ã½.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">An open house will be held on campus at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Esports Arena on Saturday, Aug. 2, providing campers and their families the opportunity to tour the state-of-the-art facility and explore college-level esports opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Registration is <\/span><b>free<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for qualifying participants and available at:<\/span><b><br \/>\n<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/camps-and-special-programs\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">www.nicholls.edu\/camps-and-special-programs<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The 2025 Terrebonne Esports Camp is made possible through a cooperative endeavor agreement between ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ and the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government, who share a mission to expand educational, recreational and technological opportunities for local youth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Space is limited.
