Information Session<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b9d77c2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b9d77c2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>In order to apply to the clinical component of the BSN Program, prospective students are required to attend a Nursing Information Session.<\/strong> Sessions are offered at varied times during each semester.\u00a0 The session provides a review of the admission processes, submission of BSN Program Application, and the criteria for application set forth by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing for students to enroll in a clinical nursing course.\u00a0 Students just need to attend one session.\u00a0 Students meeting the admission requirements by the end of the spring 2026 semester are eligible to apply for the fall 2026 semester.<\/p><p>The spring 2026 Nursing Information Session schedule for those students applying for entry into the clinical component of the BSN Program for the fall 2026 semester is below.\u00a0 Sessions generally last 90 minutes.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p><p><strong>All sessions are held in 216 Betsy Cheramie Ayo 102 (6 credit hours); History (3 credit hours); Humanities (3 credit hours); PSYC 101 (3 credit hours); NURS 120 (2 credit hours); MATH 101 or MATH 117 (3 credit hours); &amp; UNIV 101 (1 credit hour).<\/li><li>Application GPA will be calculated using only these 35 credit hours. The Department of Nursing considers only the \u201clast attempt\u201d at course work to calculate this GPA.<\/li><li>All courses in the BSN curriculum must be passed with a minimum grade of \u201cC.\u201d<\/li><li>Effective for the Spring 2026 Admissions Cycle &#8211; Completion of the Assessment Technologies Institute\u00ae (ATI) Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) with recommended level of Proficient.
