MORGAN CITY, La. — ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ and South Louisiana Community College signed an agreement Thursday that will ease the transfer process, helping more students attain access to higher education.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ President Dr. Jay Clune and SLCC Chancellor Dr. Natalie Harder signed a memorandum of understanding on Aug. 26 at SLCC\u2019s Young Memorial Campus in Morgan City. The understanding will allow students who have completed the associate of general studies degree program at SLCC to transfer all credits into the bachelor of interdisciplinary studies at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½. This transfer pact follows four similar agreements signed in the fall.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
“We are excited to expand our partnership with South Louisiana Community College that we started last year,\u201d said Dr. Clune. \u201cIncreasing student pathways for success is one of our goals as an institution of higher education and agreements like this one align perfectly with that mission.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
In the fall, the two institutions signed four memorandums of understanding covering nursing, criminal justice, business administration and biology. The agreements take effect immediately and set in stone the classes that will transfer over to ÐÓ°É´«Ã½, making it easier for graduates with an associates degree from the aforementioned programs from SLCC to transfer to ÐÓ°É´«Ã½.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This is another continuation of our commitment to the residents of Morgan City and St. Mary Parish by offering this additional educational opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
