The Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act<\/a> &#8211; Passed as part of the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act, the Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act:\n<ul>\n<li>Required any person who was obligated to register in a state&#8217;s sex offender registry to notify the institution of higher education at which the sex offender worked or was a student of his or her status as a sex offender; and to notify the same institution if there was any change in his or her enrollment or employment status.<\/li>\n<li>Required that the information collected as a result of this Act be reported promptly to local law enforcement and entered promptly into the appropriate state record systems.<\/li>\n<li>Amended the Higher Education Act of 1965 to require institutions obligated to disclose campus security policy and campus crime statistics to also provide notice of how information concerning registered sex offenders could be obtained.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This law requires that institutions of higher education issue a statement advising the campus community where law enforcement agency information provided by a State concerning registered sex offenders may be obtained.\u00a0 It is the policy of ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ to refer individuals seeking information regarding sex offenders to the Louisiana Sex Offender and Child Predator Registry which is maintained by the Louisiana State Police.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lsp.org\/socpr\/default.html\">Click here to visit the Louisiana Sex Offender Registry<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/police\/sexual-offenders-registered-at-nicholls-state-university\/\">Click here to view sex offenders registered at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sex Offender Notification Service<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Visit your local Sheriff&#8217;s Office web site to sign up for a free sex offender notification service through<a href=\"https:\/\/www.watchsystems.com\/\"> iCrimeWatch.net<\/a> By signing up for this service, you will be notified of any sex offender that moves within one mile of your home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Federal Law Campus Sex Crime Prevention Act: 2000 &#8211;
