{"id":458,"date":"2014-04-30T11:35:02","date_gmt":"2014-04-30T16:35:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/policy-procedure-manual\/?page_id=6"},"modified":"2022-02-21T16:13:56","modified_gmt":"2022-02-21T16:13:56","slug":"welcome","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/policy-procedure-manual\/","title":{"rendered":"Preface &#8211; Table of Contents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The year 2005 marked the first edition of the <em>Policy &amp; Procedure Manual<\/em>\u00a0that combined and replaced the\u00a0<em>Faculty Handbook<\/em>, the\u00a0<em>Administration Handbook<\/em>, and the\u00a0<em>Civil Service Handbook<\/em>\u2014formerly known as \u201cThe Handbook System.\u201d \u00a0The current <em>Policy and Procedure Manual<\/em> is available exclusively on the University website.\u00a0 The previous handbooks, known as \u201cThe Handbook System\u201d, will remain available for historical and reference purposes on the university\u2019s shared drive.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Policy and Procedure Manual<\/em>\u00a0represents a shift toward centralizing important information that affects all employees. It also represents an attempt to centralize the handling of official policies and procedures via the appointment of the Coordinator of Policies and Procedures.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, the\u00a0<em>Manual\u00a0<\/em>was converted to an online format. A Policy and Procedure Manual Committee was established to be responsible for monitoring all policy changes and for informing all employees of any and all updates.<\/p>\n<p>The committee is composed of the following members: The Policy and Procedure Manual Coordinator who will serve as Chair, SACSCOC Liaison, Human Resources Director, Faculty Senate Policy and Procedure Coordinator, Unclassified Staff Advisory Council Representative, Classified Staff Advisory Council Representative, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Representative, Dean Representative, and Director of Graduate Studies. The committee developed a form for making changes. Changes will be routed to the various groups represented by the committee.
